2016 Value of Information Workshop

In March 2016, NOAA and the U.S Geological Survey (USGS) co-sponsored a workshop on the Value of Scientific Information (VOI) at NOAA’s campus in Silver Spring, Maryland. Invitees included people from other Federal agencies, academia, and non-governmental organizations. The overall purpose of the workshop was to improve the quality of VOI studies. Through small-group breakout sessions and presentations, the workshop addressed the following several objectives. The objectives were to:

  • Identify programmatic needs
  • Identify methodological needs and assess the State of the Practice
